Hazards of a Waist Trainer
Everyone wants an appreciation of the society. Apart from success and brilliance, the most praised aspect of human society is good looks.
Good looks are considered complete only with a flawless figure. It’s not just woman who are running after a seductive hourglass figure but men too want to flaunt their shoulders with a lean waist.
Time is running faster and the folks today cannot take the “tried & tested” route of the regular diet, exercise, and discipline.
The corporate world is cashing on this desire and introduced the modern version of the 16th-century corset, revamped as Waist Trainer.
It’s basically a costly piece of Garment which is tied so tightly around the waist that it squeezes it tricking it to look slimmer.
No matter how simple the solution seems it carries fatal consequences. Some of the users have shared the following grievances.
Yes, there’s a weight loss but it’s just the water loss due to the excessive sweating. This weight loss leads to more problems as –
Excessive sweating leads to dehydration which if goes unnoticed may lead to several other complications.
Kidney disease –
Abrupt water loss and terribly compressed abdominal muscles lead malfunctioning of the kidneys. The damage may be from mild to serious.
Skin ailments –
Any piece of a garment when wrapped tightly like a second skin on the midriff for at least 8 hours definitely damages the skin in ways like-
The skin is devoid of any natural breathing through the pores and continuously sweats hence it loses the natural elasticity and becomes gall.
Continuous friction with the trainer makes the skin sore and easily susceptible to further infections.
The trainer puts unnatural and unbearable pressure on the abdominal organs which results in awful health perils like-
The gastrointestinal organs under pressure build a huge amount of acidic activity. This acid may erode the cells of liver if not abated.
Acidity build-up reduces the urge to eat and starves the body of mandatory nutrients.
Irregular menstruation –
The abdomen area when pushed tightly against the trainer leads to a disturbed menstrual cycle in women.
The trainers literally choke the wearer as it’s impossible to breathe normally when the abdomen is clinched like in an iron cage. This leads to short term and long term damages to the body.
The body’s devoid of the required oxygen after putting on the trainers as they’re too tight for the abdomen to relax for a normal inhalation. This causes dizziness in the wearers.
Lungs ailments –
Shortage of oxygen in the lungs due to prolonged use of the trainers for a huge amount of hours daily slowly destroys the lungs and triggers the accumulation of fluids in the lungs. This may result in lethal lungs diseases in future.
There are other risks too such as muscular atrophy of the abdomen as they’re wrapped away from any use. Disuse of abdominal muscles will change them into a lump.
